Mark E. Ziegler, Ph.D.

                     About Dr. Ziegler:  

Dr. Ziegler is a Michigan licensed clinical psychologist.  He received his Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Michigan in 1979.  After completing pre- and post-doctoral training at both the University of Michigan and Chelsea Community Hospital, he accepted a position in Chelsea's Department of Psychiatry.  In 1989, he left Chelsea to begin specialized training at the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute and to devote his time to private practice in Ann Arbor.

He is credentialed by the National Registrar of Health Care Providers in Psychology and is Board Certified in Adult Psychoanalysis by the American Board of Psychoanalysis.  He is a member of various state and national professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association, the Michigan Psychological Association, and the American Psychoanalytic Association. He is also a member of the faculties of the University of Michigan Medical School and the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute. 

Dr. Ziegler has been in full-time private practice for 40 years in Ann Arbor, Michigan, helping both individuals and couples.

Specialties:

Dr. Ziegler's training and interests are in individual and couples psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, and teaching and supervising other mental health professionals interested in refining their skills as therapists.

His Approach:

Dr. Ziegler's approach is based on careful listening in a nonjudgmental, confidential setting. He takes a collaborative approach to developing an understanding of the individual's unique experiences, needs, and difficulties.  The goal is to help individuals and couples reach a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships and discover new options for a more adaptive, gratifying life..
